There are a number of study abroad scholarship deadlines that have already passed: the C.W. Titus Foundation Scholarship, Baron Annual Study Abroad Scholarship, Jacqueline Warren and Todd Lowery Annual Study Abroad Scholarship, and the Brian Bennoch Annual Study Abroad Scholarship. For the scholarships that haven't passed their application deadlines, the scholarships have already been given out. The names of the recipients are unable to be given out.
The Stephen H. Good Endowed Scholarship is given to a student whose overall GPA is a 3.75 in the GP 21 core and will have 24 hours of GP 21 completed by end of this semester. This scholarship is available for summer 2011 long-and-short-term study abroad trips.
The Gilman International Scholarship Program is not just for Drury, but is available to every U.S. undergrad student. This student must be a U.S. citizen, have received or have proof that s/he will receive a Federal Pell Grant, have been accepted into a study abroad program and will receive academic credit at the home institution or is currently applying for this, be going on a study abroad trip that is four weeks or more and less than an academic year, and s/he must not be studying abroad in Cuba or in any country currently under a U.S. Department of State Travel Warning.
The Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarships Program is, perhaps, the best scholarship a student can receive. It provides a flat grant of $25,000. This money is used to pay for tuition, fees, room & board, school supplies, and round-trip transportation to the study site. Any student participating in a study abroad program for one academic year in a specific academic field is eligible. It is an honor to receive this award because the recipient serves as a U.S. ambassador while studying abroad, giving presentations about America to Rotary clubs and other groups.
The last scholarship is the Steven D. Seibert Scholarship for Study Abroad. This scholarship is intended to go to an architecture student with financial need that is going to be studying abroad during spring or summer short-term. This scholarship is worth $3,000. If there are no eligible architecture students to choose from, any student needing financial aid will receive it. Two architecture students were the recipients of this scholarship.
For all the information about scholarships, go on Drury's "Study Abroad" page and click "Scholarships." As a general rule, always apply early and check the study abroad page every week for this very reason.
