Editor's Note: For the semester, The Mirror will chronicle Casey Wormington's life as she moves from college life into the real world. Casey graduated from Drury in May 2009 and is currently living in the Springfield area.

It's the beginning of February and I'm already sick of winter. I am sick of the snow, wind, rain, and especially that I don't get to experience snow days anymore! To get out of my winter funk, I started my spring cleaning this week to get myself out of this funk.

Out went the clothes I haven't worn in awhile, which consisted mostly of my old college uniform of sweats and t-shirts. Next, I looked at my desk that was piling up with paperwork mainly in the form of receipts and newly acquired wedding magazines (yes, I'm finally engaged!).

I decided to tackle the mess because it was driving me nuts to be this unorganized. I bought a filing folder for all my bills and receipts, made a binder for my wedding ideas, and then under it all were old resumes and portfolio things from this summer when I was deep in the job search.

I suddenly realized my resume and portfolio were not up to date. What would Dr. Waters think? I had so diligently updated my resume and portfolio during my last semesters of college, but now that I'd landed a job, I had forgotten all about it! This set me into panic mode. At any given moment I could lose my job and could be rushing around trying to remember all I'd learned over the past eight months!

I made an appointment with Dr. Waters to help me get my life back in order. I printed out my resume and job description, packed up my portfolio along with monthly evaluations from my boss, and stuck in a few wedding invitations and stationery pieces that I had been doing on the side as part of my growing freelance business.

I'm hoping this will help me get back to having a solid set of reasons why someone should hire me. I know Dr. Waters will get me right back on track and will have some good tips for me on how to avoid this mess I've created in the future. It's a good thing I still have Drury to continue to help me develop even after I graduated. Looks like this spring cleaning will be a very productive one!
