More than just a song and dance

No one would disagree that there are many choices when deciding where to go for coffee in Springfield. One of the newest options, however, offers more to its customers than just a simple cup of java.
Jonathan and I initially decided to review Sinatra's Coffee Gallery because of our shared appreciation for the work of the great Frank Sinatra. We believed that we would be right at home, engulfed by this present-day blast from the past. While we were not disappointed by many aspects of Sinatra's, there were, however, some things that could use improvement.
Taste
Honestly, taste was the main issue that Jonathan and I had with Sinatra's. While we were there, I ordered a bottomless cup of coffee and scarlet biscotti, and Jonathan ordered a Stardust Smoothie (made with raspberries, strawberries, blackberries and blueberries) and a poppy seed muffin. While I was satisfied with my order, Jonathan did not enjoy his selection very much. Though the smoothies are advertised as "all natural," his tasted artificial. Also, his poppy seed muffin was very heavy and too much to finish.
Atmopshere
The cool, classy and calm atmosphere that Sinatra's has to offer is the element that makes this coffee bar worth coming back to. The walls are covered with pictures of the late Sinatra, as well as other greats of the day. The decorations and color scheme could be described as upscale urban, with black leather furniture and fixtures throughout the establishment. Local art, available for purchase, adorns the walls. Finally, the smooth crooning sounds of Sinatra and friends complete the calming atmosphere that makes Sinatra's a great place to study or simply hang out.
Service
Neither Jonathan nor I had a problem with the service at Sinatra's. That being said, there was not much to need service for other than placing an order at the counter. The staff did seem friendly, however, and I think that they would have been more than willing to answer any questions that we might have had.
Selection
Selection is another element about Sinatra's that Jonathan and I were impressed with. The menu is filled with a variety of options, including breakfast food, lunch specials, specialty coffees as well as desserts and pastries.
Expense
The prices at Sinatra's are comparable to the other coffeehouses of downtown Springfield. A bottomless cup of coffee is $1.80 prior to tax; other prices go up from there but are definitely typical.
Overall, both Jonathan and I would recommend Sinatra's Coffee Gallery as a good experience for those who have not tried it already. Though we hope that the taste of Sinatra's will improve as the business grows, we have decided that the atmosphere alone is worth a trip. Take a stroll down memory lane and experience the sights and sounds of Sinatra's Coffee Gallery.
